Salman Khan Hit & Run Case: Driver’s Statement Rejects

Salman Khan Hit and Run Case took a new turn when Salman’s driver claimed that he was at the wheel when the accident took place. The prosecution has vehemently opposed the statement and urged the Court to reject the driver’s claim.

On the final day of the case the prosecution put an argument that in the past 13 years since the dreaded accident took place killing one person and injuring several others, the presence of a fourth person in the vehicle had never come up.

Latest Bollywood News Public prosecutor Pradeep Gharat told the Judge D.W. Deshpande that it was difficult to believe the driver’s statement and also that his version should be rejected by the court.

The driver gave his statement on March 30, 2015, saying that it was him who was driving the car and not Salman Khan. According to Ashok Singh, he was driving the car and Salman Khan was in the passenger’s seat when the car’s tyre burst and the steering wheel became hard to control and he rammed into the bakery which ended in the death of one person and left several others injured. This statement comes after Salman Khan had recently told the court that he wasn’t drunk, as he was on a strict diet for his movie ‘Veer’ and had just plain ‘Water’ and was not on the driving seat.

Entertainment News Today On being quizzed why Ashok Singh has been quiet for this long, he said that he tried to tell the police but they did not pay heed to him and thereafter he did not have the knowledge on what needed to be done. The prosecution had accused Ashok Singh of taking money for the statement and requested the court to disregard the claim made by the actor’s driver.

The verdict of the case is yet to come out, if found guilty, Salman Khan could spend up to 10 years in prison.
