WhatsApp Voice Calling Feature For Android Now Online

Latest Technology News It’s finally here! WhatsApp’s new calling feature has finally been released, at least for Android phones. While the new functionality is open to all users, without any invites (or workarounds) required, you need the latest version to access it.

The update hasn’t yet been pushed over-the-air but you can download the new version 2.12.19 apk from here or directly from WhatsApp’s website. Remember to enable third party apps in your phones Security Settings before you try to install this. Once that’s done, the app will reflect the new interface, with a separate tab for Calls at the top, alongside Chats and Contacts.

Latest Technologies News The Calls tab logs all your incoming, outgoing , and missed Whatsapp calls, and you can make a call while chatting with someone, or through your contact list. The calling feature works like your standard caller, allowing you to switch to speakerphone or mute your mic, as well as displaying a timer.

The call receiver will also need the new version for you to be able to call them, however. Delhi Government Bans Sale Of Chewing Tobacco

The Delhi Government will put a ban on sale, purchase and even storage of all forms of Chewable Tobacco including “guktha, khaini and zarda” in the national capital from Monday.

Live News Update “We have decided to come up with a notification to Ban Chewable Tobacco in all forms from Monday in Delhi. Under this, no one will be allowed to sell, purchase or store chewable tobacco,” Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain told the Press Trust of India.

He said enforcement teams of Delhi Police as well as the Health Department have been asked to conduct surprise inspections across the city to ensure that the ban is implemented. “The teams have been told to be active on this,” Jain said.

Latest News From India However, no such ban will be enforced on cigarettes. Health Department officials said that there was a Delhi government notification in September 2012 which was in pursuance of series of directions from the Supreme Court to ban gutkha in the city.

But since the ban mentioned the term Gutkha, the tobacco retailers started selling the components of gutkha (betel nut and raw tobacco) in separate pouches. So, the purpose of banning gutkha was not served.

Therefore, the health department last year started with a new proposal to ban all the raw chewable tobacco products in Delhi, a senior official said.

Latest News Updates According to officials, ‘gutkha’ is also being supplied to retailers in Delhi from neighbouring states of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.

Google ‘Pony Express’ To Reportedly Enable Bill Payments Via Gmail

Google is reportedly testing a tool that will let you pay bills directly from your Gmail inbox.

According to a Re/ code report on Tuesday, the tool or service is presently codenamed Pony Express and is under development.

Latest Technologies News With the Pony Express Service, Google is aiming to provide an easy tool for people to Pay Bills directly from their Gmail inbox as well as the Inbox by Gmail Service.

Re/ code claims to have seen the documents concerning Google’s Pony Express Service, documents that indicate the service is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter.

As per the documents, Pony Express will ask Gmail users to provide personal information such as name, address and partial and full Social Security number to a third-party company which will then verify the user’s identity. Users might also have to provide information such as account/ credit/ debit card number or something similar to get started, notes the report.

Computer Technology News After authentication, users will start receiving bills in a particular folder of Gmail or the Inbox by Gmail, from where they can pay them directly. For now, the Google is said to be talks with third-party vendors that print and mail out bills on behalf of service providers.

It’s not clear whether the service will also take advantage of the existing Google Wallet payment service, or will tie-up with Google’s upcoming Android Pay, which is expected to be unveiled during Google’s I/O conference in May.

Bharti Airtel has expanded its 4G Services to Moga which has now become the 11th town in Punjab to receive the next generation network.

Microsoft Working On Software To Convert Android Phones To Windows 10

Technology News After Microsoft announced on their blog post that Windows 10 will release this summer, the company also added that it is working with Chinese handset maker Xiaomi to offer some customers a test version of Windows 10 on their smartphones.

Microsoft wrote said that, it will help a select group of Xiaomi Mi4 users ‘flash’ their phones with the new Windows 10 OS on their handsets and let them contribute to its future release later this year. These users will then use Windows 10 on their Mi4 devices and provide valuable feedback. Xiaomi stresses that this is not a partnership but an initiative. This move portrays Microsoft’s new platform through a unique approach, points out TechCrunch.

As the company uses the word ‘flash’ here, it indicates that Microsoft will offer a ROM, similar to custom ROMs like CyanogenMod, to install their OS on the Android smartphone. Microsoft will deliver Windows 10 ROM for Mi 4 users with a software that helps convert an Android phone into a Windows 10 phone, complete with access to all Microsoft services, added the report.

But the bigger news is that Microsoft will soon be rolling out this feature out to other devices as well.

With this move, Microsoft could attract many Android users to Windows 10, without having the need to to purchase another phone. Microsoft also added in their blog that China is an ideal Market for testing such an initiative, given the region’s relative lack of lock-in to Google services and a general affinity towards custom ROMs.

Llyod Baptista To Shoot An Ad With Shahrukh Khan

It’s Hollywood calling for acclaimed ad film-maker Lloyd Baptista. After directing a large number of celebrity commercials in India, the director recently shot a spot with Gabriel Macht, well known for his role as Harvey Specter on the television series Suits.

Sources close to the project confirm that there are talks between the director and a few Hollywood Actors over a project.

When contacted, Lloyd said, “Yes, we did shoot with Gabriel. It was a great experience to work with the team and especially with the DOP, Igor Martinovic (DOP of House of Cards) who introduced me to a few avenues in Hollywood. But I would not like to divulge in the details at the moment.
